We offer three types of rentals at Rotary Park Lawn Bowls Club:

• Corporate rentals:
  For corporate events like team-building activities, staff appreciation, company retreats, or social club outings.
  Available to both members and non-members. The rate is the same for all.

• Community rentals:
  For non-members hosting private or community events such as birthday parties, baby or wedding showers, reunions, or fundraisers.
  Not available for corporate groups or company-sponsored events.

• Member rentals:
  If you are a current RPLBC club member and want to rent the facility for personal use (family gatherings, parties, etc.), please email us at rentals@rotaryparklawnbowls.com for information on member pricing and availability.

• Corporate groups - Our standard base rental fee is $800 for four (4) hours.

• Community groups - Our standard base rental fee is $600 for four (4) hours.

• Extra hours can be added upon request (if available) for $100/hour.

• Bar service (optional add on):

  We proudly feature a rotation of local breweries and craft beverage makers!

  • $6 per drink (featuring craft beer, canned craft cocktails or mocktails, or wine)

  • $2 per pop, bubbly, or water

• A 50% deposit confirms your booking. The balance is due on the day of your event.

• Discounted rates are available for RPLBC members for personal use — please contact us for details.

• Two bowling greens (up to 128 players total), for up to 4 hours.

• Use of the clubhouse (kitchen, fridge, indoor/outdoor seating, gas BBQ) for up to 4 hours.

• All lawn bowling equipment

• Washrooms

• On-site Parking

• Free Wi-Fi

• Yes. All rental groups — including corporate, community, and private events — are required to carry third-party general liability insurance for the event. A Certificate of Insurance (COI) must be provided at least two (2) business days prior to the event and must meet the following criteria:

  • Coverage of at least $1,000,000, though $2,000,000 is strongly recommended

  • Must list Rotary Park Lawn Bowling Club as an Additional Insured

  • Must specify the event date and location (705 1 St NE, Calgary, AB)

  • Must include host liquor liability coverage if alcohol will be served

• Rental groups may provide coverage through an existing corporate policy or by purchasing Special Event Insurance from a licensed provider.

• If you’re unsure what you need, please ask—we’re happy to help!

• Yes! You have two options:

  • Bring your own alcohol: You’ll need an AGLC event liquor license, which must be sent to us ahead of time and brought to your event. This is easy to do online!, from the AGLC website, or at any liquor store. BYOB beverages can be stored in your own coolers or in the clubhouse fridge.

  • Club bar service: We offer a selection of wine, craft beer, and canned cocktails. You can pre-purchase drink tickets before your event, or we can invoice you after your event based on consumption.

• Our bar features a rotating selection of local craft beer, craft cocktails, and craft mocktails — plus wine, pop, bubbly water, and regular bottled water.

• We proudly support Calgary-area breweries and small-batch beverage makers, so our offerings change throughout the season.

• Drink prices:

  • $6 for local craft beer, craft cocktails, craft mocktails, and wine

  • $2 for pop, bubbly, and water

• Yes — trained volunteer(s) from the club will be there to:

  • Open and close the facility

  • Set up the greens and equipment

  • Offer a quick demo of the game and rules (if requested)

  • Run the bar (if booked)

  • Answer any questions during your event might have about the facility or the game!

• Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own food, hire a caterer, or have a food truck. You’ll have access to our kitchen, fridge, and BBQ.

• Rotary Park Lawn Bowls Club does not offer any catering services, or provide snacks.

• Yes! Kitchen, fridge, gas BBQ, Wi-Fi, and sound system (by request) are included. Let us know in advance if you’ll need AV or sound equipment.

• If you would like to come early to set up, we kindly ask that you please factor that into your total rental time.

• We may have multiple events on the same date, and we have a limited number of volunteers to attend events, so an early set up time is not always available.

• Up to 150 guests total on the facility property

• Up to 128 people on the bowling greens at any one time

• If you have more than 128 people attending, please let our Rentals Director know upon booking.

• Flat-soled shoes or bare feet only on the greens — no heels, boots, dress shoes, wedges, or Blundstones. No exceptions.

• Dress comfortably for outdoor activity.

• All white attire is traditional, but not required!

• Not at all! No experience is necessary. Our volunteers are happy to show you the basics and get you started.

• This is up to you! You can play in pairs, 3s or 4s.

  • Our greens hold a maximum of 128 people.

• Free on-site parking (limited) is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

• 2-hour street parking on 1st Street NW

• Paid parking north of the clubhouse

• We do our best to be good neighbours. Please do not park in the back lane , block access to the City of Calgary Emergency Operations Centre, or neighbour’s driveways.

• We’ll contact you if the weather looks poor and discuss options.

• Cancellations up to one week before your event get a full deposit refund. Less than one week’s notice: deposit is non-refundable.

• All club rules and policies must be followed.

• No smoking or vaping inside the fence (ashtray by the gate).

• Please return all equipment after your event and help keep the club tidy.
